Don't be afraid to ask the caterer how long they have been in business, if clean up is included in the price, how much deposit they will need and what their cancellation policy is. Make a list of questions before your appointment.

Ask for references and check them.

Don't assume anything make sure it is in the caterering contract. (double check the date, time and place on the contract) If you aren't sure don't be rushed to sign on the dotted line. Only after you and someone you trust have read over it carefully do you sign the contract.
